Privacy Policy

Last updated: 09.06.2026

Photon is a Windows desktop application for PC performance diagnostics and optimization guidance. This Privacy Policy explains what information Photon collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Photon is designed to be privacy-focused. We collect only the information needed to provide license access, manage subscriptions, prevent abuse, and show performance recommendations.

1. Information We Collect

Photon may collect and store limited account and license information, including:

  • A unique user ID
  • License status and subscription expiry
  • Discord ID, if you redeem or manage your license through Discord
  • Device activation status
  • Ban or access restriction status, if applicable
  • Basic timestamps such as account creation, activation, and last login
  • Admin action logs for security and support purposes

We do not require an email address, real name, billing address, phone number, or personal profile to use Photon’s license system.

2. License and Device Verification

Photon uses license verification to confirm that your access key is valid and active.

Photon may also use a device identifier to help prevent unauthorized license sharing. This identifier is used only for license enforcement and device activation. It is not intended to personally identify you.

If you change your PC hardware or reinstall Windows, you may need to request a device reset.

3. Local Diagnostics

Photon performs PC performance diagnostics locally on your device.

These diagnostics may include system and performance information such as:

  • CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage usage
  • Temperature and clock information where available
  • Running background processes
  • Startup apps
  • Power settings
  • Display refresh rate
  • Driver and GPU setting information
  • Network and DNS latency
  • Windows gaming-related settings

Photon uses this information to show scan results, detect possible performance issues, and recommend fixes.

Photon does not scan, read, or upload your personal files.

4. What Photon Does Not Collect

Photon is designed not to collect:

  • Personal files
  • Emails
  • Real names
  • Billing addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Payment card details
  • Browser history
  • Private documents
  • Photos, videos, or downloads
  • Raw access keys after verification
  • Raw device identifiers in long-term storage

If payment is handled through a third-party platform or reseller, that platform may process payment information under its own privacy policy. Photon’s license backend does not need your payment details to validate app access.

5. Discord Integration

Photon may use Discord for license redemption, download access, support, and admin actions.

When using Discord-related features, Photon may process your Discord user ID and license status to provide access or support.

Discord has its own privacy practices, which are separate from Photon.

6. How We Use Information

Photon uses collected information to:

  • Validate license access
  • Manage subscription duration
  • Prevent unauthorized key sharing
  • Provide download access
  • Enforce bans or revoked licenses
  • Check whether your app version is supported
  • Provide support and admin management
  • Protect the service from abuse
  • Show local performance recommendations inside the app

We do not sell your personal data.

7. Fix Actions and System Changes

Photon scans are intended to be read-only.

Photon does not automatically change your system during a scan. Any fix action must be started by you.

Some fix actions may adjust Windows or performance-related settings after you choose to apply them. You are responsible for reviewing a fix before applying it.

Some recommendations may require manual action, such as changing BIOS settings, improving airflow, updating hardware, or adjusting settings outside the app.

8. Data Sharing

Photon does not sell user data.

We may share limited data only when necessary to:

  • Operate the license system
  • Provide Discord-based access or support
  • Host and secure the backend service
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access

Third-party services may include hosting providers, Discord, and website infrastructure services.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Photon’s license and account systems.

However, no system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we aim to collect as little data as possible and protect the data required to operate Photon.

10. Data Retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for:

  • License access
  • Subscription management
  • Security
  • Abuse prevention
  • Admin accountability
  • Legal or operational requirements

Some records may be kept after a license expires if needed to prevent abuse, investigate issues, or maintain accurate admin logs.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request:

  • Access to information linked to your license
  • Correction of incorrect information
  • Deletion of information where legally and operationally possible
  • Unlinking of your Discord ID
  • Review of a ban or license restriction
  • Device activation reset

Some data may need to be retained for security, license enforcement, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.

To make a request, contact us.

12. App Updates and Version Requirements

Photon may require users to run a supported version of the app.

Access may be blocked if the client version is outdated, unsupported, revoked, or if the service is in maintenance mode.

13. No Guaranteed Performance Improvement

Photon provides diagnostics and optimization guidance.

Performance results depend on your hardware, software, drivers, settings, games, and system condition. Photon does not guarantee a specific FPS increase, latency reduction, temperature improvement, or performance result.

14. Children

Photon is not intended for children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If you believe a child has provided information to Photon, contact us so we can review it.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Photon after changes means you accept the updated policy.
